Choosing Your BrowbandChoosing Your Browband
Choosing your browband colours can be a very difficult task as there are so many colours and designs available. You are best guided by personal choice. Colour combinations are only limited by your imagination. We hope that the information below will be of some help!

Browbands In The Show Ring
Fancy Coloured Browbands should be worn by Show Ponies, Hacks, and Riding Horses. They must also be shown plaited.

Plain Leather Browbands should be worn by Cobs, Native breeds and Show Hunters. Hunters and Show Hunter Ponies must be shown plaited. Native breeds are generally shown unplaited, according to each individual breed society rules. In general, Cobs are traditionally shown with hogged manes.

Coloured horses and ponies are dressed according to 'Type'.  Coloured show ponies and riding horses require a coloured browband. Whereas, Coloured Cobs, Hunters and Traditionals should wear a plain leather Browband.

Choosing Browband Colours
When choosing your browband colours, it is best to co-ordinate colours from your tie, waistcoat, scrunchie or Hair bows for young first ridden/lead-rein jockeys.

Choosing colours that stand out against your ponies colouring is equally important.

The amount of white on your horses face should depend on how much white you have on a browband. If there are no white markings, using white or cream in your browband can really brighten up your horses features.

Browbands in all Golds and Creams look stunning and generally match any Show Riding Attire.

Solid Colour Browbands look better on horses who have a lot of white on the face.
